Hand wrought iron Continental window bench seat with lions heads c1885 Item # 4865 Hand wrought iron Continental window bench seat with lions heads c1885,most probably Italian. This heavy hand wrought iron window bench has four well cast solid bronze lions heads at the end of each of its arms. The chairs wrought iron base ends in four iron ball and claw feet. This piece was extremely well made, held together with iron pins and fitted straps. It is also very strong, comfortable and in excellent condition. Measures 24 inches deep from nose tip to nose tip,26 inches wide,19 and one half to the top of its seat,22 inches inside and 30 and one half inches to the top of its arms. This Satin wood bookcase was hand made by "Joseph Gerte" one of the finest furniture makers in Boston Mass. This rare piece has watered silk in side, ebony inlay, bookmatched satinwood veneers, dental molding, wood and glass shelves, a divided light middle door and two side doors with bronze screen inserts. This an absolutely stunning piece of American furniture made between 1930 to 1940. Measures 79 inches high,60 inches wide,16 and one half inches deep at base and 10 inches at the top. American Eastlake Walnut Parlor table Item # 4409 Eastlake style lamp table, circa 1875. The little wheels are casters, and they are original. Charles Eastlake was an influential English architect and designer, and an early champion of the "modern" science of hygeine. He believed that the prevailing Victorian taste for excessively carved furniture and layers of carpeting and draperies fostered unhealthy dust and germs.
